The prevalence of maxillary fractures at Hasan Sadikin Hospital Bandung between 2015 and 2020

AbstractIntroduction: Maxillofacial trauma includes injuries to the lower, middle, or upper thirds of face and oral cavity. As these fractures have potential cause morbidity even mortality, they require careful examination management based on their severity. This study aimed provide information regarding number types maxillary fracture cases at Hasan Sadikin General Hospital, Bandung. Methods: The design this was a descriptive study. Patients diagnosed with unilateral fractures, palatal Le Fort I II III admitted Bandung, from January 2015 - December 2020, were included. incomplete medical records excluded study.Results: found 157 patients out 1221 maxillofacial treated Oral Surgery Department Hospital between 2020. Male had more significant (87.26%). ages 11 20 years highest incidence (29.29%). Maxillary accompanied by most prevalent, followed (28.66%, 21.01%, 11.46%, respectively). About 42.67% who experienced also sustained mild head injuries. frequent mechanism injury motor vehicle accidents (95.54%).Conclusion: reported prevalence Dr. Bandung 2020 types, sex, age groups, injuries, injury. Future is required measure force, direction, impact mechanism, use helmets, helmets prevent trauma.
